Very much a fun bar, the Vintage’s warm colours, thick carpeting, and catching neon effects tell the customer as soon as he enters that he has made a good choice.

The coloured spotlights, electronic signs, video jukebox, mirror balls and pinstripe lighting in ultra-modern style underline this a spot for the young, but the very pleasant manager is quick to point out that his pub certainly does cater to the younger customers at night but is also highly popular in the town with all ages at all times of day.

Originally a Gilbey’s bar, The Vintage retained its name when it came under new management.

It’s a bar of exceptional length, on four levels, and this is a principal feature of its appeal; it’s like four bars in one and you’re free to wander from one to another.

The decor is tastefully done with something of the Art Deco style in its design; the use of artificial foliage reiterates this notion of twenties and thirties taste.
