12-14 Church Ln, Belfast BT1 4QN
Just approximately 50 yards down Church Lane, on the same side as The Roost, stands the little Boreen Bar, owned by the Trainor family since 1968. Only 22 feet in length, and 7 feet wide, it lays claim to being the smallest bar in the city of Belfast. The two longest bars in the city are, unfortunately, no longer with us. They were McGlade’s, whose bar stretched practically from Little Donegall Street to Donegall Street, a distance of 55 feet, while the old Washington Bar in Howard Street – now completely rebuilt and refurbished – ran for a length of 57 feet, although it was divided into compartments.
