Antler – formerly known as Linekers, Degrees North and something else – has called in the administrators. The bar – situated on a roundabout on the busiest arterial route in Newcastle – made significant losses over the past year.
The bar only relaunched last year as an Alpine theme pub, where you could enjoy a schnapps in a cloud of diesel fumes on a traffic island, sadly the refurb does not seem to have been a hit with punters who dared brave the three lanes of wheeled death or ventured through the piss soaked underpass, to get an average overpriced pint.
Thankfully, the pub has been bought out of administration securing jobs but we get the feeling that the constant revamps will continue.
