Durham University Students- bitter at their failure to get into Oxbridge- carry this hatred for the rest of their lives, evident in some of Durhams most notable Alumni who include Voldemort and the Martian war machines from War Of The Worlds.
Despite the students, Durham has some great pubs and with it being on the East Coast Mainline, it is only a three and half hour replacement bus journey from Newcastle.
